Turtle pictures in the back yard.

Coming back from a compost run, I almost stepped on this little turtle.

I recognized it by the lawnmower damage on top of the shell.
(That happened over a year ago.)

I got a closeup.

Quite the prehistoric looking foot.

Eventually, the turtle got annoyed.

Do you see the turtle?

There it is.

No sign of it now.

Leah took a turn at close observation.

We tried to give it some cantaloupe from the compost, but that seemed of no interest.

We went a way for ten minutes, the found the turtle had moved about 20 feet across
the yard and seemed to be heading for the park bench under the old pine tree.

Something strange appears stuck to the turtle's lower jaw.

I'm guessing partially digested worm.

We went away again, and when we came back, the turtle was digging into
the dirt behind our little park bench. Leah tried to feed it some lettuce.

We went back later and the turtle was gone. The lettuce was still there.
