September 26/30, 2007

Sometimes there are great clouds outside the window at work.

On Thursday, Leah was coming in after having been unexpectedly stranded in Philadelphia over night,
so I hopped on my scooter at lunchtime and rode to Kentucky to meet her coming off the plane.

I got there when the plane was due in, but it was early.
The counter agents told me I'd missed the arrival by about 15 minutes.
If Leah had been coming in on Delta, I'd have been way early even so,
but she had flown in on U.S. Airways, and they get you back to the garage quickly.

So I got back on the scooter and headed out of the airport short term lot.
Sadly, scooters don't trigger the automated systems, and the attendant couldn't
figure out what to do. Eventually I just left my $2 and drove around the barrier.

I thought the airport police might be after me, so I decided to slip back into Ohio via the ferry.

I nervously awaited the ferry.

Finally it got to our side of the river.

All aboard.

The ferry attendant was happy to snap my picture.

Looking up river, toward Cincinnati.

Here are a couple of juggling stilt walkers.

There was a steady beat from the percussion people.

And found a formal garden full of roses on our way out.

Another pleasant weekend.
