The choices:

  1. $250 for a new unit installed.
  2. $180 for repair by Sears.
  3. $125 for repair by Budget Door.

I ended up going for option 3.


Getting at the problem (makes noise, but doesn't lift door).


Nylon gear with no teeth.


Nylon bits and pieces.


The replacement part.


Ready to go.
