The Blue Streak

The 1300 Mile Service

The Scene: Lakota Motor Sports

July 1, 2006

I arrived about 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. There was a world cup soccer game
coming in on a weak signal in the corner.

Richard started out by taking a ride down the street and returned
with two comments. The breaks were great (nearly threw him over the
handle bars) and the idle was set way too high.

Johnny was asked to fetch tools in exchange for friendship, which
he did even though he knew the deal was bogus. He agreed about the idle.

The idle is set by a screw just fowarward of the large gear.

The chain tension and starter stuff was all fine, too.

The other side was more of a challenge.

The belt was a little loose, and it can squeel a bit some times.

The adjustment is to loosen four large bolts and slide the engine forward.
The problem was determined to be not big enough for that.

We also checked the oil in the gearbox. All was well there.

Right about the time the world cup went into PKs we were done.
England lost, but I won.
