Part 4, The Second and Final Riding Class

This time I arrived a little after 12:30, and I was number nine, so we were waiting on three more.

The morning class had already cleared out by the time I got there, but the word was everybody had passed, so our group was cheerful.

The instructors had said we'd start as soon as we were all there. Two more came, and we milled around the bikes, ready to go. We waited until after 1:00, but with our 12th member still not present, we had to begin.

With only very slight misgivings, I remounted the same bike as last week.
Tonya and Greg soon had us all doing figure-eight patterns in small groups.

Sadly, just as we were starting our second exercise, our 12th student arrived.
It was too late for him to catch up, so he was out of luck and had to leave.

We did exercises on stopping, swerving, cornering, and driving over obstacles.

Tonya and Greg worked us hard and gave us a lot of feedback and encouragment.

Before we knew it, we were waiting to take "the test."

After careful instruction, we each did each of the test rides.
Some of us (me, for example) were asked to repeat some manoevers.

But soon Tonya was handing out our certificates.

We had all passed. Three aces, but the rest of us passed. We were happy! (Greg took the picture.)
